Following Geoff’s request at the AGM I have volunteered to co-ordinate a list of events for LBC. Basically, I see this as an addition to the race calendar already published. I want to list events of interest to people who ride “our type” of cycles. In order to do this, I need help and suggestions from the readers of the magazine. I have already thought of Spezi and the B Spoke show in Bristol but I am sure there must be many other events as well. As Mike pointed out at the AGM, we are spread relatively thinly around the country but if you are taking part in something on a non-UCI friendly machine then please let me know and, subject to magazine production schedules, I will try to include this in the list to encourage other local(ish) members to come along. I, for instance, take part in Sportifs on my Moulton which always draws interest from the diamond frame big wheel crowd. And remember, most Kingcycles are old enough to be of interest to the Veteran Cycle Club. Anyway, please contact me with anything that you think might be of interest. Thanks Stuart |

York rally will be the weekend of 22-23 June: http://yorkrally.org/
Mildenhall will be 24-26 August: http://www.mildenhallfestival.bike/ Both are well attended by cyclists of a laid-back persuasion, predominantly touring types and those who use non-standard cycles for disability reasons. |

Numerous audaxes (Brevets) happen around the UK all year round with distances up to 1200 km, next year is Paris-Brest-Paris a 1200 km audax where 6500 riders from all around the globe take part. All fully inclusive to us and are non competitive in nature with very generous minimum speed allowances. However, they are two numerous to list here, but here is a portal to events which can be accessed by changing the options at the top of the page.
Then there is the Isle of Man Cycle Challenge which 3 velomobiles took part this year, now that is a serious "Sportive" especially for 3 laps, no minimum speeds though. Edited by Yanto - 07 November 2018 at 7:40am |

Thanks to all who have contributed to the first edition of next year's calendar, please keep me updated throughout the next year. Brian, I can't find a date for the EACH events at the moment but will update future editions as and when they are published. Stuart

Not long now until everyone will be eager fill in as many boxes as possible on the shiny new 2019 kitten/pony/badger-themed calendars that will be adorning their fridge doors. So here's a list of 11 of the dates so far firmed up for the 2019 BHPC championship races. I'm just awaiting confirmation of the 12th venue (and date), which I'll post as soon as I know.

Um. Where's Hillindon 1?
What the heck has happend to the Curborugh circuit? It used to be a compete dual lane circuit not that one lane with a roundabout job at one end. Looks dangerous. Colision speed could be 70 mph for the faired bikes/velomobiles. Roy
