Having been to Calshot in a previous life (watersports instructor), I would say that the Calshot Velodrome does not resemble a so much a cycle track, more a Wall of Death ... Dead

Training ??! Pah ! Get a bodyshell - molds are now dust free and drying on the back patio awaiting their first coat of new wax release to back up what is still on there from when Neil used them .... Big smile

Reading is pretty flat, there's no issues with a trike on there at all.

Even steeper ones it's okay as long as you're going over about 18mph.
Having never ridden a VD till about 4 years ago I reckon the best thing you can do is ride as fast as you can into the first corner, after that it's just a matter of staying awake to finish the race.
As confidence grows, youll probably find yourself sprinting to overtake people just so that you can go higher up the banking, and as Adrian says, get into a group and it's much more interesting.

Is someone going to do a race report? If not I could maybe write something before I forget about it, although it maybe a while before I forget my first win ever.
I seem to pass more people in the later stages of a long race, I wonder if I get faster or if everyone else gets slower? I set myself a HR limit and stuck to it for most oof the race, resisting the temtation to chase after twed becuse then I would have blowen my HR limit and risked blowing up later on.
What happened to the eddie?
PS, would it be possible to have some more longer races? Maybe another 2hr or a 3hr race? I seemed to quite enjoy it.

Looking at your times (although not particularly accurate) - they should be within a few seconds. They are reasonably consistent - and slowing down slightly at the end.
