Not currently - the track condition was poor, there are a number of safety issues and the marshall requirement is high.

Condition is poor??
I think the surface condition is great, it was resurfaced last year and is much better than welwyn (or any any other track I have ridden apart from maybe manchester and newport), are you thinking of pre-refurbishment days? What marshalls are needed?
What are the saftey issues, the fence was replaced during the refurbishment? I posted some pictures of the refurbishment in another thread, not sure if you saw them.

And Castle Combe is back on, on Sunday 10th June from 2.00 after the Car Boot. We have done this before so some will know how we do it but details will be posted when I get the whole lot done.
Lee, regarding Quibal Park, have they moved the gateway, the lighting posts, and are there fences to prevent any man/chav and his dog from trying to walk/drive along/across the circuit?
I am unhappy about circuits with high levels of access from the general public since the danger of public injury is higher. Before anyone makes a comment, yes I know Salt Ayre has lots of access but it isn't in the middle of housing so though we do get people to aim at there aren't that many.
For the same reason we don't use the Hetton Lyons circuit, which is one of the better UK circuits, since the behaviour of some locals just make it unfeasible to use without a large number of marshalls.

The 10th of July is a Tuesday. Did you mean 10th June?

There is a fence all around the outside of the circuit, this is made from a mesh with bars going horizontally so if someone hits it there is less chance of getting hurt. There is only one gate to access the circuit and I don't think the general public are allowed on the circuit itself. The one gate is in the same place as it was before but is made with the same mesh as the rest of the fencing. The lighting posts are outside the outside fence so there should not be much problem with them. There was a thread with some pictures a few months back.

Arghhh
I am getting my circuits confused...apologies all round
Right, back in the land of the living, the only thing would be the number of velodromes, there are currently 2 booked, Newport and Aldersley both of which are reasonably(!) banked. We have, for the last few years been going to Reading which provides a (considerably) shallower alternative.
Now I don't think we really want to be doing 4 velodromes so it really comes down to which ones people would like to try., Reading or Quibell Park (apparently the fastest outdoor velodrome in Europe)
Personally I would prefer Quibell since its location is much more suited to those of us what live an appreciable distance away from Greater London.
What do you jolly boys and girls think?
