sorry can't put my hand-up here, as I'd have to organise a technical training sesh before or after, Or even worse between the racesEvil%20Smile

no for real, can't due to the solar/race car things, and so can't know for sure how things will pan out. It is not that we don't know when the races are it is the prep.

Thanks, Andy, and to the other volunteers.  There's not that much to know.  As you've done a few races, you may be surprised at how much you've already picked up.  I'm sure that an offer on the day as organisators assistant at any other event will be gratefully received and would enable you to pick up stuff like the principal operations of the race software.

One day, when I get one of them tuit things, I'll write up a sheet of the things an organisator needs to be ready to do.

Date for Ford Proving Ground event in Romeo, Michigan, USA...
Friday July 17 - Sunday July 19.

All are welcome to make the trip over to the States.
I realize it will be a long & expensive trip.

Rumors are that Hans Wessels, Ellen van Vugt, Thomas Shaik, & Simon are you coming(?) may attend.  World Hour record holder Damjan Zabovnik has expressed his interest.

This event will be two weeks after the Worlds July 3 - 5.  All of best North American riders, including Sam Whittingham after he completes RAAM are expected to attend.
It would be great to have the fastest riders in the world try their hand at Full-Faired, Partial-faired and Unfaired record attempts in the following events:

1/4 mile drag
Kilometer straight line drag
One - Hour time trial  (also perhaps 25 mile time trial)
Road races
Trike race
Six Hour time trial - world record attempt or race

The event is being setup to allow individuals and multiple riders a chance on brand-new (rebuilt/repaved) 5 mile oval that is very Flat (less than 8 inches variance all the way around).  I am fortunate to work for Ford Motor Company and they are allowing racers use of their track to try and attempt world records and have a weekend of HPV racing fun!
See other thread I started on this event in this Racing section.

Sincerely,
Mike Mowett

Yep, Sam is doing RAAM.  Not sure what team he is riding on.  Team Bachetta pulled out I think last I heard.  It just gets too hard to do it again, big cost to them.  John Schlitter was in Battle Mountain the night Sam set his record.  It would have been interesting to get a photo-op with them two.  Not to mention Fast Freddy Markham, we had three RAAM veterans present.  I had the opportunity to meet Glenn Duery a few years back when he came to one of our races.

Sam likes the fact that the Ford Challenge dates were moved back one week from their original proposed dates.  He says it will give him more time to recover before the event.
