I can confirm that Sam was 6th in the second race behind Sarah and Stuart was between him and John with Dave next.

I'm as sure as I can be that I have been deprived of a lap in Round 1, because only those pesky uprights (one with a pannier rack, egads) finished ahead of me...
This may mean that Messrs Everett and Sparenberg are shorn of a few points, mwahahaha... with possible consequences for trikie overall results? |

Just a quick post to say thank-you to all for a warm welcome to us two novices - Mike and myself (Russ), who participated in the slower race on our uprights, and had a good battle with Tarquin on the other upright. Apologies we had to shoot off early - there was a roast dinner waiting for us a 25-mile bike ride away before I had to catch a train from Euston.
It was very interesting chatting to everyone about their machinery, amazing to see up-close how simple engineering re-thinks can result in a faster machine than many-thousands of pounds worth of upright bike. I like it. Am now on the lookout for a secondhand unfaired (or rear-faired) two-wheeled very low racer to compete in some of the Northern rounds next year (I came down from Manchester). PM me if you know of one... I mentioned to Andrew that there's a new track near to me in East Manchester that may be suitable as a future venue - http://www.tamesidesportstrust.com/facility-cyclecircuit.asp bing maps view here: http://binged.it/1a93ZQ8 It's a good flat, smooth track (I use it to teach my 5yr old twin girls...) but I don't know if they hire it out. Nice racing against you, Russell - I look forward to taking you on again next year on a lower machine, when you will no doubt give me a bigger drubbing

Russell - thank you for coming. We have a Kestrel Low Racer that I think is available- I'll check with Fiona.
Nick, I can confirm that you were ahead of me in the second (1st slow) race. Edited by GeoffBird - 21 October 2013 at 10:46pm |

![]() Although called Lowracer it's not low by today's standards and certainly not as low as a Kestrel but it does do exciting leans in corners. New rear wheel and drivetrain (gears, chains, cables). £500. Please PM (Andrew S) for more pics and details if interested. |

I think my figures for race two (slow) are wrong. Dennis, who was timing me, had a problem with the watch and it somehow started deducting laps! I definitely finished in front of Katie so must have done 9 laps. Also the published figures are almost the same as for the first race when my gears jammed and I had to stop to remove a loose number plate and lost half a lap on everyone else. It doesn't make much difference in the overall scheme of things but I like to know what my average speed is year on year to log any (if any) improvement.
Thanks to all who organised what was a good day. Stuart #12
