Time for honesty being the best policy, in race 2 I was a whole lap and a half down on Chris on his Rapto by the end so thanks for whoever gave me the extra lap but its was only 20 for me.

I just hope the pain of owning up and therefore being beaten by Fiona (who cheated her way into the slow race) will at some point be rewarded.

I've got a load of spare white sticky back numbers (about 80mm high) as can be seen here (13) http://rcsoar.zenfolio.com/hpv_hillingdon/h12157d7c#h12157d7c
All numbers available but not many 1's or 3's left. If you want any just come and find me at Lancaster or Preston...

In the absence of any quibbles to the contrary, John's and Barney's laps have been adjusted as requested. As the Devil race (10% of the points) was cancelled the two rounds have been weighted 45% (30 min race) and 55% (40 min race) and the final positions for the day are:

Final Results composed by using Average Points 45:55

Andrew, something is still wrong. I finish ahead of Gus in both races, so I can not be behind in the combined results. I have my Garmin data to prove that my speed is over 21.3 mph in both races.

John -

I can explain. These are the comparative figures for you and Gus:

    Gus Norcliffe John Lucian
Round 1 laps 19 18

time 33:29.39 32:36.48

mph 21.1 20.5

O position 5 7

O points 656 531

45% O points 295.20 238.95

Round 2 laps 24 24

time 43:57.66 43:30.10

mph 20.5 20.5

O position 8 7

O points 478 531

55% O points 262.90 292.05

Overall O points 558 531

O position 6 7

Gus's speed was higher than yours in Round 1, although yours was slightly higher in Round 2. However in Round 1 you were two places behind Gus (7th vs 5th, Rob Hague was 6th) but in Round 2 you were only one place higher (7th vs 8th) so Gus gets the greater points advantage. Gus's advantage in Round 1 is more than enough to outweigh the fact that Round 1 was worth less points overall than Round 2 (45% vs 55%).

The speed you measured on your Garmin, although likely to be more accurate, isn't really relevant. The speeds we publish are based on nominal lap lengths, usually provided by the venue, and we've never claimed them to be accurate. For what it's worth, I measured my average speed as 22.3 mph in Round 1 but I've been given 21.7 mph, so the published speeds are likely to be around 0.6 mph too low, which agrees roughly with your figures.
