I think most people will be camping at the York Cycle Rally although it does work out quite expensive for just one night.

Is anyone going to York who could pick up a box of teeshirts from Nigel Slee in Leeds on the way? Nigel lives just 5 mins from the M621 (LS12 2RW) - full address by PM. The box contains Organisers teeshirts for the World Championships and Nigel can't make it to York. Many thanks - Andrew

Finally home, after a hire van saga. Jim from the AA confirmed Twed's diagnosis of a dodgy Adblue injector, news of which had reached the engine management computer before we set off this morning and caused it to go into a sulk. We eventually made it home with the Adblue pump disconnected and the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree, but no more clouds of ammonia smoke.
I'm now sunburned and have a banging headache, so may not get round to tidying up the race results in the usual timely manner.

Oh!
Sorry to see this Kim. I had the NOX sensor go on my Renault Master. It’s very common and according to the chap who fixed mine is often caused by foxes. There is a cable between the sensor that screws into the exhaust and its control unit, and the cable is shrouded in some eco-friendly organic material that foxes love to eat!! The little gits get under the van and chew them. It was very obvious on mine. And the sensor was over £500… |

Astute viewers will note that the clamp-on camera bracket used during the first race wasn't rated for the heat. This is why we test things. (I think we should beg/borrow/steal a full-sized photographic tripod for the Worlds - less to go wrong.) I've corrected the TT start times based on the video, because Natalya was confused about when she was supposed to press the button, and half the riders were confused about where they were supposed to be starting from. I've also checked the video for finish times of the particularly close riders: Heather's leg failed to beat Slash, and Steve Marsh was ahead of me. Otherwise, very robust results for both 45min races: Only one missed tag read (from Lee in the first race, who has a single tag low down in the wrong polarisation, which got occluded by Russell), and in the second race some sort of heroic DNF due to a mechanical on the bell lap by Jeff James, which I didn't witness.
