Well, OK, Tuesday.  Didn't get back from dinner until 10:30 pm nad had to get up at 4:45.  Bah!

High points from Monday: New European Record for Damjan Zabovnik / Eivie III at 77 mph plus some change; 60+ mph for Todd Reichert (sp?) / Ace (University of Toronto) on his first run over the full course.

Low points: Very windy for the first evening session, Damjan crashed in the braking zone, Larry Lem's new bike Cyclops has major issues and is pretty much unridable with the full fairing on; Miner Details - the bike from Missouri University of Scince & Technology - hasn't made it to qualifying yet as it still needs some fettling, not to mention polishing, after Whitney someone-or-other dropped it in the car park.

Too windy this morning but no wrecks and nobody drownded.

First the bad news.  Damjan's European record has turned out to be nothing of the sort, alas, since it was subsequently discovered that his helmet is self-made and thus non-approved, and therefore messes with the insewerants.  ASttempts are being made to find a koher replacement.

Now the good news.  The weather was much better today (Wednesday) and Barbara Buatois edged her own Women's world and outright European record to 75.6.  A new PB for Eric Ware in the Wedge and 71 and a bit more than last year, and for Ron Layman in Primal 2, with a 70,something.  I am a nidiot and thus didn't write the numbers down.  Sam did 81.5, which is a bit meh! these days.

Hadden tells me that there is no such thing as a helmet approved for recumbent racing. So a self made helmet should be no diffrent in that respect to any other.
Current fleet: Milan SL MK2 #027, Fujin SL II, Beany!

If it isn't approved by the rule makers of this particular competition then it isn't approved.
Racing is life...
Anything which happens before or afterwards is just standing around waiting to race....

Appears to be from last year, as it contains Al Krause, or traces of Al Krause, and he's not here this time.
