Many thanks for all the hard work Chris! It looks like a great selection of varied tracks to me, well spread out around the country. Roy: We've raced successfully at Curborough recently, using both the full circuit and just the top loop that the pedal cars race on. There is two-way traffic when we use the full circuit but it's fairly wide.

We race it the other way around now I think... We had velomobiles and streamliners racing there a couple of years ago.

That makes sense as long as no one swings wide to take the racing line around the bend. The cars must do that as well. Also occured to me maybe just the bottom loop was being used. Thanks. Roy

There are usually cones separating the two lanes. So no’one should ever be taking the bend that wide. I’ve raced both ways but as I’m a slow coach on an upwrong trike there is not a problem. The circuit suits the trike. However I am not able to ride a velodrome with banking. So something for all here.

Hi Everybody, With the next magazine deadline zoomimg up I need to put the next events calendar together. So, if you know of any cycling event this year that "our" type of bikes/trikes etc are welcome please post it here or email me. Doesn't have to be racing, Chris has that covered, or competetive, or exclusively HPV orientated. I have looked at the Wiggle Sportifs, for instance, and they do not exclude recumbents, your bike has to be safe, wear a crash helmet and display your number, sounds familiar. When you have done something I'm sure Geoff will be pleased to receive an article about it. Don't be shy, get in touch! Ride safe Stuart

After several years of badgering (and at times abusing) them on their Facebook page The Hemel Hillbuster is finally allowing recumbents to take part this year!! Unfortunately for be it's the day after the Bruntingthorpe pedal car race but I might still pop along... |

Here's a summary of the race formats for the 2019 BHPC season
* Times shown are when the track is booked for us. Sign-on will begin 1 hr before this. There will be Fast and Slow races for each of the formats listed (except the timetrials where you’ll be riding on your own L ) |

Thanks Chris. Glad there is one in May. April 13th is my wife's birthday. Was thinking it would be June before I got to race again. Better hurry on with the Great White. Decided to rebuild the transmission due to the chain dropping into 9th with the slightest hint of backpedalling. Not good on the starting line.
