What is the current fashion for aero helmets for unfaired recumbent racers?
The Carnac Kronus are currently on sale and the visor, unpierced shell and short tail seem like the styling that should be quicker than a standard road helmet when laidback. Wind-tunnel testing of a dozen expensive aero helmets in a recumbent position isn’t going to happen. |

For me the limiting factor was the aero lid of the tailbox, which is why I've been using a sk8er d00d helmet (which isn't an aero shape, but at least isn't full of holes) for the last couple of seasons. Headrests may cause similar issues.
Those Carnac ones certainly look the part.
