FOR SALE:
HPV-Heaven streamliner, as seen at many BHPC meetings, though not many recently hence the sale. This is a machine that deserves to be raced, not just to languish in our garage. It is in race-ready condition. The machine, designed and built by the almost-legendary Geoff Bird, is easy to ride and has a track record that includes two Women's World Championships (2008 and 2012) and the current British Women's Hour Record. The chassis is adjustable for a fairly wide range of leg lengths. Currently located in York, but could deliver to the BHPC meeting at Darley Moor. Offers over £1000. xx ![]() Edited by Adrian Setter - 16 June 2015 at 6:57pm |

I also am extremely tempted.
What are the chances of 1/2 man like myself getting up to 50 mph in this on the flat? I have a 50p bet with a work collegue that I can do 50mph on the flat (e.g. over 100 meters) with no wind etc. Never had much of a business head 50p - £1000 = errrrrrr. Regards Brian. |

As my website's down at the moment, you can see dimensions here: http://www.recumbents.com/wisil/scale_project/streamliners.htm (scroll down quite a way)
The nose comes off in about 10 seconds via four 1/4-turn fasteners. Brian - depends what you mean by flat. 40 mph is easy - 50 maybe a bit more challenging (have just estimated it would need about 450 Watts).

If only I wasn't a big wuss with a proven history of failing miserably to balance a streamliner...
![]() Fantastic machine... Looking forward to seeing it back on the track.

Am I right in thinking that the front passenger seat in a Touran folds flat? If that's the case I think it's highly likely that you would get the bike in.
I've been looking at the Touran's dimensions here, from which I can say that you won't be able to carry it upright - it's too tall - but it looks unlikely you'll have problems with length. With the nose off, the bike is somewhat shorter than a tail-faired low-racer. Laid down on its side with its nose off I think it'll go in. Edited by Adrian Setter - 17 June 2015 at 12:14pm |

An update to that: I've just measured the bike with the nose off and it's (approximately) 207cm long |
