There is a possibility of having a pre-season event next year at the new Derby Arena indoor velodrome. This will be considerably more expensive than a normal track hire so I need to judge the likely interest in such an event.

The booking we have been offered (after a long and arduous negotiation) is:
Saturday 26th March 2016 (Easter Saturday)
1:00-4:00pm
The race fee has yet to be decided but could be in the region of £20-25 per rider, compared to the usual £10, and would not be covered by the annual prepay fee. Whether or not this event would count for points in the 2016 Championship has also to be decided, although I am strongly inclined not to include it since the track is technically unsuitable for many riders, such as juniors and most multitracks.

If you are likely to want to go to Derby velodrome next Easter then I'd be grateful if you could indicate your preferences on the attached Poll. You may select more than one option if more than one applies.

If it's the same length and slope as York then i would say most velomobiles would be ok, rider just has to accelerate hard up to about 25/30 mph on one of the straights before launching up onto the cliff faced bend.

I hope that it doesn't count to the championships, only for the reason of hating banked tracks on three wheels... means if I can't stand the torture of cramp any long I can pull off the track.

Otherwise, indoor track sounds fun if only to see what top speed you can achieve?

I'm actually a little apprehensive. First time racing a streamliner and it may be in a scary place. Easy to run out of gears I would think

One would think more than 12 of us would be up for it, but maybe the Easter weekend-ness of it has put some off. Coupled with the ignorance of the event, agree re more publicity required.
When is the cut-off date for letting the velodrome know?
