Andrew and I are organising Darley Moor and this is what we propose:
1.
SIGNING ON will be ready to start at 10.00am
2. The
first race will start at
11.30 for
45 minutes plus one lap (allowing plenty of time to try out the track and warm up)
3. The
second race will start at
12.45 for
45 minutes plus one lap (allowing some time for those in the second race to warm up)
4. At
2.15 (ish) we will run some
sprints for fun, pretty much like last year for those who were there but with a twist

.
The twist is that is will be a
sprint biathlon i.e. running and riding
i. it will be a knockout competition, the number of rounds determined by the number of competitors.
ii. Individual races will be between 2 or 3 people depending on the number entering.
iii. For each race you start at the start/finish line and RUN back towards your bike which will be on the starting grids (about 80m)
iv. you then RIDE back to the start/finish line and whoever crosses it first goes on to the next round.
v. those riding with only two wheels can have a "holder" on the grid
vi. those riding fully faired might like to think twice
vii. there will be
prizes yet to be decided but maybe differentiate gender and number of wheels.
Note: this is only for fun but it will only work if lots of people sign up to do it.
General things for new people:
- One of the races is for faster riders and one is for not so fast riders.
- Everyone gets one race.
- Which race is run first is decided on the day.
- Racing costs £7 for the day of you are a member and £10 if you are not.
- Membership costs £15 per year.
