Topic: Weather in Zandvoort not great Posted: 16 May 2006 at 2:51pm |
The forecast for the CycleVision weekend is a bit pants, as you can see by clicking on "trend" on this page:
Let's hope they're being pessimistic - but we'll be packing brollies and jumpers

'You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows' - but a satellite is useful.
Please lets have a update after the event - and good luck to all going.

Carbon fibre brollies with Cd<0.15 I hope - national pride is at stake here. BBC Weather is a bit more optimistic: light showers, 14deg and 14mph in IJmuiden (http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?world=4417) on Saturday, but it's early days yet for BBCW. Anyone know what the significance of the capital J is in IJmuiden? They do the same with IJsselmeer too. Perhaps they're both sponsored by International Juice Corp (tm).

Lets face facts, I've got a solar panel to play with, it's going to **ss it down all weekend.. I'm expecting thunderstorms/50ft high waves etc for the ferry crossing from Hull.
On the other hand I'm packing my magical set of review "rainlegs", which have the wonderful magical property of making the rain stop 5 mins after I've put them on everytime for the last 6 months. So that's torrential rain now I've said that, sorry..

Maybe not, if we make you wear the rainlegs all weekend (as a special dispensation, we'll let you take them off in bed)

If it's any consolation, the forecast for the Frozen North this coming w/e is a bit grim too. Hopefully I'll have finished the Spurn Head 400 before Sunday's Wet starts in earnest...

yes the rain that seems to be assured for the ride back from Hull on Tuesday seems pretty much a dead cert. Wish I'd put my fully waterproof coat in when I left work yesterday!

A bit of rain I can bear, but judging by the wind this morning, the ferry crossing is going to be Puke City...
Keep an eye out for me in Holland - I'll be the green one
