Looking at the aerial view of the address given in the "Events" pages, I can't see anything looking like a velodrome.  This one looks rather more promising:

Quibell Pk, Brumby Wood La, Scunthorpe, South Humberside, DN17 1SR - see this

Maybe we've been given the correspondence address for bookings, etc.

Thank you for bringing this to my attaention. I had not looked at the events page for the track before, that google maps link on the events page is totally wrong and is the other side of the town, the correct location is the one posted above.

I'm planning to be there on the 16th for a ride rather than a race, I don't know the area but assume a ride is possible.

How banked is the Quibell Park track? and how does it compare with (say) Reading and Aldersley? From the aerial photograph and a bit of trigonometry, I estimate it at 40 degrees; but this could be way out.

I ask because it has a bearing on how many will race, and whether there will be some people (trike riders, for example) who might prefer a social ride.

The Coulsons visited it a while back (before it was resurfaced, so they rejected it as a possible venue on grounds of bumpiness).  It's not steeply banked - closer to Reading stylee than Welwyn, and certainly nothing like 40 degrees.

I found some pictures of the renovation process here, from which you can see it's not dissimilar to Aldersley.

It is very simular to Aldersley although I think the banking may be slightly less.
http://www.bhpc.org.uk/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=908

Bank angle is apparently 29 degrees, so quite a bit steeper than reading (11 deg). Could not find angle of Aldersley
