I see that Fowlmead/Deal weekend is indicated as a 2-day affair. What's the outline plan?
- I'm wondering which day will be the race day and which might be for more social rides. (trying to avoid trains that transmogrify into buses on Sunday.) Seasoned travellers note it is now time to get your "cheap" train tickets.

The event was advertised as what do you want to do, for which I have received no replies whatsoever. So in the absence of any opinion from elsewhere, I hereby appoint Yowie as decider of the format. Only suggestion is to keep to one days racing as the track costs twice as much for two.

In advance of the scads of new race format requests, my ½d:
Personally prefer slightly longer track time of about 1 hour. The track looks to be quite wide (like Hillingdon wide) and long, taking the full circuit including (what I'll call) the woodland section it is 3.3km / 2miles.
2x 1 hour races on Saturday please. Clockwise, before anyone asks.

And a touring ride on Sunday, which Judith and I will be happy to lead, if wanted...
It will be of ~50 miles, and the area is hilly. We can go and recce a route on our next free weekend (there must be one coming sometime...)

Has it been decided yet which day is to be the racing day at Fowlmead?
Judith
and I are willing and able to lead a 50-60 mile touring ride on the
other day, if wanted; it seems to us that racing on Saturday and
touring on Sunday makes most sense.

Saturday is proposed for race day, without objections. see above.

Ah - righto. Suits us, and the proposed format sounds fine Now - will anybody come with us on a 50-60 mile touring ride on the Sunday? We can make it nearer 50 than 60, if that's what people would prefer. If we start at a reasonably early hour (say 9:00) and take about 90 minutes for lunch we should be back at base (or railway station) by mid-afternoon.

Saturday racing is likely to rule me out with current work commitments.
In fact, racing (or doing anything else!!) any more this year is beginning to look a little uncertain...

I'd love to do a 50 - 60 on the Sunday, but unfortunately I have to be somewhere else on that day. Can make Saturday, though.
