can someone tell me how far is the castle coombe circuit from the village and would it be walkable.

Yes, seem to remember it's walkable, but a steep uphill on the way back. We gave up going for lunch there years ago, mainly because the pub was so busy, you couldn't get a seat and it took ages to serve food (may be easier earlier in the year though). These were the days when a beer at lunch, before the fun race was de rigeur! Fun times...Cry

As Geoff said - it used to be a regular visit - Though the hill is steep.
