I spotted that Eddie Robbins' Brompton was in Street class rather than 'Sports' at both Shrewbury and Aldersley. I assume this is wrong and have amended the results accordingly on my website and asked Neil to do the same on the BHPC one. If anyone spotted a set of fairings on Eddie's bike that I missed, please put me right.

A couple of video clips from the line of the last laps at Shrewsbury:
Of note in the first race at 0:34 is the situation with Philip W. & Jeremy F. of someone having to do an extra lap because they get lapped by the race leader just after crossing the line - or is it the other way around???
Note the uphill finish which was leveled by the council in time for the third race. In the third race there was a close finish at 1:44 - Simon beating Adrian on the line, and at 3:00 - Andrew, despite enthusiastic support, comes in behind Paul. There were loads of cameras at the weekend - has anyone got any of the pictures online? (apart from, of course, ones that have been sent to Paul Lowing as exclusives for the magazine!) Excellent! (particularly the flag waving, I thought)
![]() You know, I reckon if somebody talented with a video camera put a three-minute highlights video from one of our races up on Youtube and we posted links to it on lots of cycling forums, we'd have a big influx of new racing members... I did take lots of photos... and they were all pants, I'm afraid. I blame the camera

Hi, message to the Keeper of the Records regarding the Aldersley race this year :
Paula was not riding the Ratracer, but it was an Argos road bike (O/L/U/S) -- entirely not to be confused with Satan's favourite highstreet cycle store ![]() Edited by Yowie - 20 October 2007 at 2:34pm |

Sorry to be so late in reply to enquires about this machine but not being a racer don't generally read this section of the forum. The faired KMX belongs to me, towtug. I took it along after Lee asked for photos so that he could see it and drive it. Black is the option in recycled 1mm plastic that the covering is made of unless you like battleship grey. The frame is made of free recycled plywood and it is held together with staples and a few bolts with wing nuts as the plastic repels glue of all types.
The machine is for use as a bad weather shopping machine so the heat is no problem and the jet intake in the nose cone houses the 2,000 candle power head light for dark cycle tracks. The rear top opens for the shopping load. Cost of recycled plastic £78.00, add to this KMX, new, on Ebay £250.00 and a few pounds for staples etc, reflective stripes, B.S. compliant lights and the total is way below the cost of an imported velomobile. The turning circle is a little on the big side but fine for road work and the respect that one gets from the motoring public has to be seen to be believed. Not as fast as my Greenspeed every day shopper but why rush! Yes I did the social ride on that day in Shrewsbury and very much enjoyed it, just sorry couldn't stay for the Sunday ride too. ![]() |

Just to give due warning to Alan and Barney that I intend to be giving them a 'proper run for their money' in the events I attend next year (including the worlds). Unless of course we come to some agreement about forming our own three man pace train to mutually improve our positions.

Excellent!! Look forward to seeing you...
I think Barney has a cunning plan involving something low and fast so we may need some steroids and a tow-rope!

Shorts, t-shirts, sunshine and dry track - good to be reminded of the summer - esp after today's ride all wrapped up on damp roads and dark by the time we finished (ok so we did have a long pub lunch).
Good photos Paul - thanks for putting them up. |
