I guess ideally it would be nice to have a Ladies Sports Class, Ladies Multitrack etc. but I don't think there are enough ladies competing regularly at the moment.

What we need is to attract more women (and I've said those words a few times before, I can tell you...)

It's strange that the Junior class seems to be far more popular with girls than boys.

Perhaps that's just to do with the gender of the offsprings of the people racing?

There was a junior boy at Milton Keynes simply because Phil is a boy, not through choice. (Although, I must point out he isn't my offspring. I don't have one. And he isn't ginger.)

Racing is life...
Anything which happens before or afterwards is just standing around waiting to race....

That probably does explain it... Any thoughts on why cyclists produce more girls than boys then??

Possibly the boy children think their parents are mad and refuse to have anything to do with them? I speak not from experience here (apart from the mad bit), the loving son is only 6, so a bit young for races, but he wants me to build him a Speedy his size...

I can think of 2 who tried HPVs and given up, going back to 'proper' bike racing (which it has to be said they are pretty good at).

Holidays, family, sailing, unwillingness to rent vans and spend hours driving. But don't worry we will be at Eastway in as many numbers as I can get. If anybody wants a bike to race on I may be able to oblige.
