Track on the lower section was much more interesting than I thought it would be and quite fast, and it answers those put off by the hill. With neither Adrian or Andrew there, who is going to tell Mike B that, if he'd turned up, he would have taken partially-faired points almost uncontested?!
![]() Shame we didn't have a bigger turnout - maybe we should start calling it Redbridge (as the signposts do) to put less emphasis on the 'hill' bit! It does have the advantage over most of our other venues of offering a wide variety of possible track layouts. The streamliners were using mad angles of lean round the tighter bends - awesome! Thanks to Anne, Derrick and gNick for a great day out. Edited by GeoffBird - 10 July 2011 at 9:24pm |

Glad you all had a good one... Sounds like Twed may have found the way to make Hog Hill enjoyable!
We didn't make it there as we were taking part in the New Milton Pedal Car Grand Prix today - an amazing experience on closed roads with 53 entrants and huge crowds...
We actually led for a while (thanks to Neil's incredibly quick car...) but were taken out by some over-enthusiastic driving by another competitor on the narrow track...

One more vote of thanks for Twed and his inspirational use of the track.
It is a shame that not more people turned out but it meant we had a couple of excellent 30 minute races with everybody on the track at once, I just hope the electonics behaved for gettign the results out.

Ditto to all of the above!
The hill was good fun! going down it in any case, I think I maybe went up it more times than I would have liked to though.
The track layout was fantastic with some realy nice, tight, fast corners and a great pair of races.
Thanks to all that made the day worth the train ride.
Neil H, I hope you don't hurt too much, and wishing you a quick healing.
Take care,
Barry ;-)

Great racing, one of my favourite tracks hope we keep racing there bottom circuit proved a great success. Great weather, great organising team, speedy recovery Neil and don't forget those elbow pads next time! that bike has a habit of sliding at HH. Our racing a bit safer that the tour de France at the weekend!

Neil had elbows pads with him just not on his elbows. Always worth reminding everyone on the start line for those that want to use them but have forgotten to put them on. I rode up to the start without a helmet on and had to ride back up the hill to get it!

Bottom circuits were OK. I don't think I will go to HH again. In view of attendance, consensus seems to be with me. |
