Just adding my thanks to Mr D. A fine weekend. Everyone was talking about coming over for a week 'next time'. What have you let yourself in for?
Sorry I didn't get the chance to say goodbye to everyone on the ferry.

Really enjoyable time had by us too. It should be noted that Keith not only organised the whole event and bbq but also stopped and waited when Harry crashed in the Crit (NOT on a speed-ramp) - The Stranglers were wrong about heroes.

I see the JEP reported Keith as coming "an impressive fourth" in the crit, when he was actually third! I never cease to be amazed at journalists' ability to get even the simplest facts wrong...

Also kudos to Sherri for simultaneously lap-scoring the crit and commentating! I can see no errors in the results either.

My thanks to Keith, too, for taking on and pulling off in fine style such a big undertaking.  Also to everyone else on Jersey  who was involved and who made us so welcome.

Had Keith not been so gentlemanly in waiting for Harry I suspect that he'd have won as I may not have caught up after my own early spill.

I hope Harry is on the mend.  A learning point for those racers still not wearing elbow guards: Harry's injuries were to an elbow.  Get some.  Wear them.

KEITH.
Can I add my thanks too, for a really great weekend.

My Chief Executive says thanks too for all the shopping opportunities and hopes she (I hope this includes me....) can return next year...... Does anyone know whether surgical removal of credit cards can be done on the NHS?

Kind regards,

Alan B.

I'm so glad you all had such a good time. I've passed your thanks onto Tony, Toby, Peter and Andy from VeloSportJersey who organised the non BHPC races, and Antonia who provided the food for the bbq. I'm sure Sherri is reading this, and taking her rightful share of your appreciation for the excellent job done in running the races at Les Quennevais and in St Helier.

I'd also like to thank you for your patience with the results - I expect to have them completed by tomorrow.

For those who missed out, the crit was such a success that it is very likely that it will be happening again next year. There is even Battle-Mountain-like-talk of resurfacing the left-hand corner specifically to make it faster for next year's crit!

Cheers,

Keith.

Good find there Fraser - gives a good idea of what the course and the competitors were like. Good shots of local rider Gav at the bottom of Mulcaster Street and Geoff flying around the corner at the Pomme D'or!

We both had a tremendous time in Jersey, the opportunity to ride a crit (careful with the spelling) with crowd support a rare treat. I have now had my Andy Warhol moment, 15 minutes of fame as the centre spread of the Jersey Evening Post.
Full marks to Keith and the Jersey cycling clubs for organising and letting us play in their hill climb and time trial.
A very bad man indeed
