OK, so it is no more difficult than Shenington then apart from needing a suitable venue.

Would Shenington or Curborough cut it or would people simply not be able to get around the corners?

Strikes me that HPV's are actually slightly harder to accomodate than pedal cars simply because of needing a bigger track to run on.

From past experience I wouldn't dream of running a joint BPCC / BHPC event on the same circuit because of the loss of advertised track time the pedal car teams always experienced in the past but it does strike me that both clubs could benefit from such an event.

What budget is available?

I will leave it to those who've actually done it - and there are several of this parish who have - to comment on how easy or hard it is.

What I'm certain you do need is a team, however small, committed to making the event work.  At the moment that's something we don't have.  And, unless Mike is doing something off-web to set up such a team, nobody seems to be building one.

I agree with Adrian - It needs several people to work together to make it happen...
Richard and I have said we will help and Mike seems to be keen to co-ordinate things... Anybody else??

The club has the funds available to stage such an event... The event in 2008 ended up costing the club very little in fact. Our usual annual insurance policy covered it...

Curborough wouldn't be suitable... I'd love to do it at Shenington but the track probably isn't really big enough...

Fowlmead looks the best bet to me... May be worth some of the pedal car guys coming along to the two-day event next month to have a look at the track and see what they think of it??

I see no reason why pedal cars shouldn't take part along with all other HPVs (with a seperate class for them if enough are going to turn up...). As we saw last year there would probably be several pedal car teams from France and Italy etc who would want to come and play...
If they are the same enthusiastic, friendly bunch who came to Blackbushe last year I don't see how anybody could object!!

Good question... I think the plan is to have a longer race on one of the days....

It's a nice track with a good camp site next door...

Very true... No idea what numbers they are licenced for or how they deal with big fishing events (the camp site is part of a commercial fishery) but I doubt there would be a problem with additional (portable) toilets and showers if we were to go ahead...

As far I know, Mike isn't doing anything off the web and I went to Italy and back with him. These days, for anything to work it must have a lot of web involvement. Mike does not do that. It is difficult enough for the newsletter, let alone a major event.

I would be pleased if this provoked the club to have a new team for future events but it does not have one now and in my opinion it is far too late for 2012.

As it happens I'm going to Cottington Lakes tomorrow (next door to Fowlmead) for a couple of days fishing/camping with my Son...

I'll ask the question regarding them providing more camping facilities.

Thanks Adrian. A well considered reply. Worth reading right through and reflecting on with  the postings at the top of the thread.

We could offer an invitation for Foulmead, but I don't think you can have a Worlds without a 200m course. It will be interesting to see which continentals turn up for Foulmead this year.
