Well, I have given my Windcheetah a blast (well shake down ride) around the garden - 0.5 miles average speed 8.2mph - not bad trying to avoid, trees, dog poo, fallen cooking apples and on slippery grass and leaves  not one straight run and a lot of stopping when the "big tree" got in the way on the tight bend - managed to get loads of wheelspin and sideways Approve !
 
Seriously, I hope to compete next season, but looking at the race results i wondered if individuals were restricted to one race per event?  if not it makes sense to try to get into a race where there are fewer faired vehicles so as to score more points in the open class? and ignore the other race, or is it better to enter all and go for it!  As a former Time triallist on D/F I am ignorant - no comments please!
 
Also my Windcheetah has the streamlined rear box, does that make it a partially faired vehicle, even though I can be seen from all angles?

You must have a bigger garden than ours! (which is nearly all bike shed...).

Event results (i.e. points scored) are calculated from average speeds across all races rather than on race positions, so there is no advantage to being in a race with fewer particpants from your class. In fact, race organisers try to allocate (e.g.) all Multitrack competitors to the same race, both because it is more fun* to compete against your peers and because it makes for better racing and more entertainment for spectators.

There is no reason why you should not do more than one race; but if you ride the first one properly you are very unlikely to be able to improve your average speed in the second!

I think (though I stand to be corrected) that our Competition Secretary has ruled that the titchy Windcheetah tailbox does not confer a significant aerodynamic advantage, and therefore does not make you Part-faired.



*we consider fun to be very important!

Garden bigger than average - but i don't think it helps much, more use as mountain bike course (hence reference to shake down ride) - with poo!  9 big dogs ensure that poo is a plenty !!!!
 
I certainly would not be competing thinking that i could win - so fun is high on priority, and i would love to be with a gang of three wheelers !!
 
Titchy !! well compared to what I have in the past (saddle bag thingy big enough for an innertube) it is enormous, can't wait to fill it with racing fuel - Jam butties!!  As for aerodynamic advantage, well my brain will think it does therefore it will (placebo aerodynamic advantage). 
 
Can't wait for next year - i'd better sign up and pay my dues!!!  Talking of which is there a race entry fee?

Current race entry fees are £7 per race for members and £10 per race for nonmembers but this may well increase slightly next season. It is possible to pre-pay for the season at the first or second race. This usually saves a few pounds if you do sufficient races but also means you don't have to remember to bring £7 with you to every race.
