*** Paid Filming Work *** I noticed a casting call for 'Cycle Groups' for paid commercial filming for TV idents (on-screen identifiers) on 19th or 20th September in NORTH of England. I got in touch and it's a freelance agent who's come back to me with a request for more information about BHPC to help with their proposal to the client. I've spoken to Alan and offered to coordinate with agent at this initial stage. Right now I just need to know which members could be available on 19th or 20th Sept for filming in the Leeds / Manchester / Blackpool area if we get picked. It would be good to have a wide range of bikes and riders to represent BHPC. If things progress we would then identify a suitable track which they would book for the shoot. To make things easier for me to keep track of names and availability I've made a google form so please add your details if you're available. No point asking me more as that's all I know at the moment! Cheers Nigel |

I realise I never gave an update on this thread!
I naively imagined the production team would leap at the chance of filming a host of HPVs of all shapes and sizes. In the end they only wanted one velomobile and picked Shaun Pallister and his yellow and red machine. Shaun was almost one of the most local members for the shoot. Shaun earnt his money. As predicted a lot of sitting around doing nothing with a little riding. Apparently the weather was appalling and some of the upwrong riders were in danger of getting hyperthermia. No sign of any tv ident trailers yet. With the poor conditions an edit of the filming might see the light of day.
There's the makings of a good humorous story from Shaun for the magazine. Maybe Jane can tease it out of him?? |
