Can we confirm whether we will be using just the bottom circuit or the whole track at Hog Hill please?
I think Geoff is organising that one?

Many thanks to Twed for volunteering to organise at Hillingdon... Clap

I understand it's just the bottom track.

Yes, I've only booked the bottom track.  And from 12.00, rather than the usual 11.00.

I'm happy to help with the organisating in any way that would be, er, helpful Geoff. Other than grappling with an electronic timing system, that is... Wacko

It's probably time Heather had a rest! Hug

Why can we not use the whole track? It makes a nice change from the other tracks we use which are all pritty much flat :(

Because it is no fun for overweight middle aged riders like me to get up that hill, never mind race it and do it time after time, just start drinking beer and wait 20 years and you will understand..

The bottom track is good fun anyway, just be prepared for punctures from the flints washed onto the track.

I agree with Lee, and I have been drinking beer for 40 years! Either way the flints at the bottom are a nuisance, not just washed down but spread by mountain bikerist cutting across the track.

Stuart (up, and over, the hill!)

I'll bring a broom. I liked the hill too, although I prefered the downhill to the uphill.

Not booking the full track is an experiment to see what just having the bottom circuit does for attendance.  Turn out at Hog Hill has been dwindling, which I think is because the majority are put off by the hill.  Paying for the whole track also seems a bit of an extravagance when on recent visits we've hardly used the top section.

I think "we" should use the hill this year, and do two 45 minute races Dead, both ways, with mass starts Evil Smile.
Did i mention i'm not going LOL

Also like the hill. But it is just as much fun riding the bottom circuit with a lovely series of bends to negotiate, was great racing there last year. So if it's cheaper and gets more riders out then all the better

is there a possibility to take a shower after the race?

Looking at the weather forecast I think there is a good chance of taking one during the race... Big smile

Hog Hill and Hillingdon both have excellent facilities (as good as any we go to) which I think include showers if I remember correctly.

Showers at Hillingdon are over in the footie place aren't they? just toilets and changing trackside!

I think that's right... Showers are in the main sports centre not in the clubhouse... Can anyone confrm whether there are showers at Hog Hill?

Hog hill has showers (used them). Only aware of (& used) showers in sports hall at Hayes.

Still can't picture this "hill" you all keep going on about, there's a nice fast bit, some boring bits where the tyres scrub going round and round, and a gentle wee slope to get back to the fun bit again

will probably going out for a road ride up not flat bits instead as it's too far to ride down to to race for me :D
(not out on DofE expedition for a change!)

If I may make a suggestion: what’s wrong with a first short race, say 15/20min crit or a 3-round TT, with the hill and then a second longer race on the lower part?

By the way, a couple of Belgians will be attending Smile

To make things clear: THERE WILL BE NO HILL INVOLVED IN THE RACING ON SUNDAY. We have not booked that part of the circuit.
Hey, glad to hear it will be an 'international' event.
