This is the place for information and discussion about the 9th round of the 2013 BHPC race season at Darley Moor on Sunday 4th August.

No doubt an Organiser will be along shortly to tell us what's occurring.

[Erm, you are one of the organisers. Ed.]

Racing plan for Darley Moor is as follows:

10.00 - registration open
11.00 - registration closed
11.30 - two lap time trial anti-clockwise
1.00 - "slow" race, 45 minutes +  1 lap, clockwise
2.15 - "fast" race, 45 minutes + 1 lap, clockwise

If anyone would like to volunteer to help with timing the time trial and help with the end of the races, it would be much appreciated so that we can also race.

Organisers:
Andrew Sidwell and Heather Fortnum

I'm planning to be there so will take a turn on the stopwatches as necessary, although I would like to do some testing of the new wooden bike after todays surgically precise modifications.

Unfortunately I will not be attending.

Leaving Richard unchallenged for the multitrack win....Disapprove

Have fun without me.

Unfortunately I'm not too sure if I'll be able to make this race as my friend / driver can't make it anymore, and the train is not an option as it's a Sunday.

If there happens to be anyone who can provide a lift from the Chester area at all, I'd be massively grateful. Long shot I know!

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and Darley Moor will be my first event but I'm keen to chip in so if I can be of use in terms of timing or something please count me in.

Looking forward to coming down and meeting you all Smile

Unfortunately we are having family over on Sunday, so I've been grounded especially after just spending a few nights away with some cycling chums!

I'll be there assuming my car gets fixed in time. So put me down for timing duties too..

No excuses necessary Ian - you've earned yourself a day off.

I was going to help and watch, probably.

Tomorrow I will be banging in fence posts and starting to build a wood store, if I can grease my ankles enough to get them into my work boots!

I'll not be at Darley Moor as my back is still mending, so gentle testing of velomobile's new ever so legal Evil Smilenew electric motor is on my weekend agenda!

I have already been treated to the 'blues and two's' treatment - last year with a standard 250 watt motor fitted. "What do you call that mate?". So, I got the crew to take it in turns to drive it up and down the layby for 20 minutes; took their photos for the mess and they went away chuckling with joy. So, I reckon they are now 'conditioned' to treat me as an eccentric, rather than a master criminal. He He He...

Thanks very much everyone for making me feel so welcome; cracking day and great racing.

Really appreciate you helping me out get everything sorted out for me Alan and also Barney for letting me tumble off your bike without being too concerned about how much damage I've caused... Likewise everyone who did the organising and the bystanders who were good enough to do the timing Clap

I doubt I'll be able to make another session this season, but am certainly looking forward to next year where I'll hopefully have a better idea of what the plan is beyond going as well as I can and not falling off/getting in the way too much Wink

Thanks again and all the best,

Simon

I have just had a call from Gareth, my contact at Ashbourne News Telegraph, who is delighted with the pics taken by his staff photographer and they wish to run a full spread in the paper and a slideshow on their website. Can I have a volunteer who was there whom Gareth can contact for the 'lowdown' on the day? ASAP please.

Ah, he must have been the photogrpaher I spoke to. Depending on how much technical stuff Gareth wants to know, and providing that is zero, I'm happy to talk to him since I was organising and didn't race (much!)
Alternatively perhaps Alan G would be better.

Heather,

No, Gareth does not need tech stuff, just some colour about participants eg locals if any , people who have travelled to the event from Mars; bit of Club history etc, etc. He has the story bones written already and would like to put the pics together for press tomorrow. So, if you can call Gareth (01335 342847) by 17.15 hrs today that would be great.... Ta.

I have no idea who was there or what happened - I have to take notes to remember that sort of thing - but, if he does need any technical stuff, then I'm happy to try and help. I'm at home this afternoon and evening.

If you come from Derbyshire then Norwich is as exotic as Timbuktu.

Last chance for quibbles: the results from Darley Moor will be sent to Kevin for publication at the end of today unless someone stops me.

OK - results posted http://www.bhpc.org.uk/Data/Sites/1/archive/events/events13/darleymoor-13.html" rel="nofollow - here .

Added a new feature on the results to try and avoid quibbles on the results from when we merge rounds.  So now when you hover over the final total it shows how the result was made up (for instance on hovering over a total of 636 in the class you see "590*0.3 + 565*0.7" so the person was award 590 points in Round 1, and this had a weighting of 0.3, with round 2 565 points and a weighting of 0.7.  Hopefully this will make it easier to understand.

Hi All,

Can I have a few comments from people about there raceday for the race report. Doesn't have to be long, just a few lines about your race, any action or anything unusual.

Please send them here so I can compile them, magazine@bhpc.org.uk

Many thanks,
