Anyone know if you can stick a baron lowracer on a bike rack on the roof?

I have a Thule bike rack and I can't quite work out if will fit from pictures on Google. If anyone has any experience would be useful.

othwrwise it's in the boot and family stays at home.

Andy,
many years ago I used a Thule bike rack (similar to a Thule 532) to carry RatRacers. What I needed to do was to drill out the the mounting points which held the "upright" which clamps the tube. This then allowed me to slide it along the 2 paralell base bars. This was then firmly reattached using bolts. Ensuring that they are not too long otherwise they will scratch the roof!

I you want one I still have them kicking round the garage.

I looked into the option of standard Thule for carrying the Rapto and the local Halfords kindly let me take my bike in and try it on their display model. As I suggested similar mods to those described by Neil the poor sales rep went very pale. For me the issue was that the Rapto was about 2 inches too long and I felt the whell supports would be hanging over the end / too close to the end of the main channel.

In the end I've built a very simpke rack consisting of two lengths of 2x1 spaced so that the front wheel drops in perfeclty and the back whell is removed and a "fake axle" clamps the drop outs, its worked fine to date.

Thanks for the tips guys. As family no longer wanting to go see a man about a dog I can just chuck in the boot for now and tinker with rack at my leisure.

Had a look at wasp and although shorter would sort of fit so extending the channel a bit may do the job.

Won't have to use too often as normally don't have a full car and bike but you never know.

I have got a fork mount bike rack which I use for carrying my Fujin, works well for me.
