I am writing on behalf of the University of Liverpool Velocipede (ULV) Team. We are a student lead engineering team, charged with the task of attempting to break the world land speed record for a human powered recumbent tricycle and are currently searching for a rider to do this!
The University of Liverpool was the first UK University to attempt to break the world record with the ground-breaking project ARION1, founded in 2013. Five years and many British records later we, the ARION5 team, are setting out to break some more.
Our project involves the design, testing and manufacture of a tricycle that can beat the best. This project falls in accordance with the International Human Powered Vehicle Association (IHPVA) rules. The competition will take place at the annual World Human Powered Speed Challenge (WHPSC), in Battle Mountain Nevada, in September 2019.
The project is currently in the design phase and in need of a riders, both male and female, who can fulfil the potential of our design. We are looking for powerful cyclists, capable of outputting over 600W.
If you or someone you know are interested in the prospect of challenging yourself and breaking a world record, please provide us with an email address to forward the necessary documentations for applications and further information.
We look forward to hearing back from you.
Kind Regards,
Beth Rushton and Christian Nygaard
