My partner likes riding her ICE Micro but the 40-355 Marathon Racer tyres on it are not particularly quick touring tyres. She is looking to get a bit quicker at next year’s BHPC crits and to take it a bit further at PBP.

Greenspeed Scorchers or Tru-Blu 40-349 tyres are the fastest small tyres I know of, so I am looking to rebuild the wheels with wide-ish 349 rims with 32 spokes (to match the existing hubs). If the new rims are deep section and asymmetric to give a slightly wider track, so much the better.

What nice-ish rims are out there and where do I find them?
Ginkgo’s Kinlin XR22T and SJS’s Sun CR18 are the best I have found.

or far fewer £s  https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/rims-tape/joseph-kuosac-16-349-aluminium-rim-28-hole/" rel="nofollow - https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/rims-tape/joseph-kuosac-16-349-aluminium-rim-28-hole/

Although they may be too narrow for a 40mm tyre

They both look skinnier than I’d prefer and >£1000 for rims would sting a bit. 28 holes rims won't work too well with 32 hole hubs.

https://brommieplus.com/ has several nice 349 32 hole options from Kinlin. Some are tubeless-compatible sections.

Has anybody successfully set up small tubeless tyres, particularly on trikes?

Are there any tubeless 349 tyres or is ghetto-tubeless the only option?

Depends what you consider "small" but tubeless 406 on velomobiles is quite common.

Yes, I have a Moulton on tubeless 406. Front was easy but the rear is still being a pain. I suspect the rim is oversize and I need to reduce the thickness of tubeless tape on the rim bead seats. Hopefully a narrow wrap over the spoke holes and a wide wrap over the bead seats will thin it out enough.

Fratelli 406 rims don’t have the best possible rim joints but look pretty.

Schwalbe Pro One 406 tyres have terrible quality control too. Half of them are lumpy straight out of the box when properly seated.
