I see that this year's Race Across America begins next week.

I'd like to wish Neil F. and his team all the best for a trouble-free (and of course quick) trip: hope you'll be writing it up in the newsletter Neil!

Bon voyage,

Neil M.

Have a good one Neil.

Hi All,
thanks for the good wishes. I'm now getting into race mode after a couple of rides with another of the team. Looks like we will have a fun time. First ride in the heat and hills. Hot, damned hot and we were not in desert temperatures - fun. As for hills well long but not that steep - so it looks good for a good fast run.

I'll try to keep you all posted.

Neil

Yup Neil - do it for us weird-bikers (and Poland...)

I'm sure most people have found it already, but if not the RAAM official website is http://www.raceacrossamerica.org. There claims to be an animated progress map once the race starts. Neil's team (JDRF Velokraft) starts next Tuesday (June 21st) at 2.00pm (10.00pm our time).

Very sorry to see reports of the death of one of the competitors (Bob Breedlove) in this event.

Many, many congratulations to Neil, Tim, John and Glenn (and the  support team of Team Velokraft of course), for finishing RAAM 2005. Not just finishing but finishing 6th overall in 6 days 15 hours 46 minutes - a brilliant achievement.

I watched the results coming in on my mobile at the back of a meeting in London - better than a talk on secure wireless authentication protocols anyday. Sorry I couldn't manage more than a silent cheer or I would have been ejected for playing Bull***t Bingo.

Well done chaps!

He'll just have to ride to the events as a warmup!
