I was in mi quest this evening when i thought (yes sometimes i do think), that despite me saying i can't race at Shrewsbury cos Wobbly Bob won't go round the hairpin, i do actually have something that will - mi Quest - good old Quincy!!  Not exactly suited to a course like Shrewsbury it being a bit tipply topply round tight bends, and then a good weight to haul up the slope to the top bend, but maybe worth a go!

Now i have a problem, before starting racing this season, i trimmed my skid lid to such an extent that it fell apart, leaving only the straps, which became the basis for my home made sausage helmet (LOL)...

As i'm a yorkshire man I am naturally careful with my money and have inbred deep pocket short arm syndrome, this made worse by living in Scotland for 11 years!  So I'll be b******d if I'm buying a skid lid for 45 minutes use!  So is there a kind soul who could lend me a lid for the race, i promise to wear a cap so you won't catch what i've got and i won't get what you've got!

additionally if anybody still has "LOOK" cleats on their shoes or they want to brave my shoes they can have a go (I'm not changing pedals).  They can even take it on the road if they want cos it will still be civilised with road tyres, batteries for lights and indicators and full mirrors....  just leave me your car keys as deposit, (unless it is worth less than a new Quest, in which case a kidney will do)

Cheers

The point being is that you need a 'proper' helmet if your head is exposed, a 'race-hat' is OK when fully enclosed but not in a Quest.

I will try and remember to bring a lid down with me, I won't be racing anyway.

cheers mate, if you could bring one, just in case gNick forgets or it won't fit.  It might be a bit cramped for your legs, but i can move seat back and up an inch or so ( that will make the hairpin interesting haha).
The reason I'm reluctant to change pedals (Look delta) is that i've just covered the foot holes up, although they could be undone (after the race)  thinking about it if anybody wants to swap pedals they can, it isn't easy will end in blood and tears as it has to be done through foot holes, but they can have a go!
