I wasn't aware of such a problem until now. My local road club are very
recumbent-friendly and have no problem with me turning up for TTs on
the Dalli. Possibly because a good 25% of the members take great
pleasure in beating me soundly over a 10-mile course, even on 'outdated
machinery'!

I have asked my local club if I could do TT's on my recumbent and they said "no". The reason being is that they are affiliated with the CTT and must comply with their (silly) rules. If they were to allow to do the event officilly and there was an "incident", they would not be insured.
The local club TT's are however run on public roads so there is nothing to stop me (or anyone else) exercising their right to use the public highway and riding on the same road at the same time of a TT, you just need a watch to time yourself.

It really is dependant on the club - being a member is a good idea!
I don't know what the problem is - I don't want to do the BBAR
championship, just get a time in my local 10, which is what I suspect
is all that any of us would be interested in. I will have a reasoned
thought about this and contact CTT and see whether we can come up with
a workable solution.

Comfort and speed?? |
Comfort, maybe. But surely not speed with the suggested bikes?

I think it was an Oke Ja (is that how you spell it...??)
The same chap who was at Castle Combe and went VERY well there...
What we need is a reason to throw him out of Sports Class...

He was also having a play on Mike Burrows' Ratracer after the race which may be a relief to Sports Class but a worry for some of the unfaired boys...
Seems he's on the lookout for a faster bike. He had a go on my Hurri at Castle Combe. Don't know what he'll end up getting. From what he said he has a bit of trouble getting to races because he doesn't drive.

I will give Look North a ring tomorrow and see if we can get a copy of their footage.

I was timing the person on the Oke Ja (with chipboard chainring guard) and he did 27 laps, one more than me. I also went faster than I thought, I did 26 laps and my comp said my avarage speed was 19.2Mph which I don't think is bad considering the tight corners.

Thank you. If it is in digital format then I'd like to see it.
