I just did a 10 in the local Severn Road Club weekly time trial.  We used an alternative course due to roadworks with many turns and give ways, but it was a measured 10.

With a time of 18'09"  I was fastest by some margin.  Big smile

That showed them.  I don't expect they'll let me make a habit of it.

Nice going HowardThumbs Up

Just out of curiosity; did you do this in your Shark Attack machine? (must have been head turner on the road) cause that is one serious avarage speed if on a DF (by my standards any how)

Take care,
Barry Wink

Yes Barry, I was in the Great White.  My normal PB is 24'21".

I have been politely informed that recumbents are not allowed in club or open events.  It was always going to be a one off anyway.

I think I was caught on camera phone about a dozen times in 4 miles to and from the start.

Thanks for that Howard.

I wonder if you were caught by any speed cameras on route too ;-)

Pretty sad that they won't allow recumbents to join in, all sounds a bit UCI, you think they would be happy to let people wanting to try their luck on a funny bike have a go.

I did my first ever time trial on Wednesday evening at Hillingdon; with the Westerly Cycle Club and they seem very happy to have Recumbents there. it was just like a BHPC race but with more of those strange upright contrivances.

Take care,
Barry ;-)

In their defence, CTT West have spoken for the inclusion of recumbents.  But officially they are not allowed in CTT sanctioned events and therefore taking a strict line they are disallowed.
