Three months can be last minute as far as booking accommodation is concerned - and I generally get to do all that stuff Confused

I hate ferries, and had quite enough driving on the wrong side of the road last year - I'm just as glad he's decided not to bother this time.

We're having a week in Oban in September instead Big smile

I should make it for the Friday and part of Saturday as I will be in France chasing le Tour . . . It will be a blast as our Belgian friends are super hosts. So, you can't count me as another "Brit" but from the right island Wink. I wonder if DeliChoc are sponsoring . . .

A little more information from Jan about the 100 km race.

It is in fact a time race, ends when the 1st rider does 100 km.

As to the nature of the Zolder circuit, Jan writes

"Zolder is never flat, compare it to Zandvoort ( even a bit more difficult)but without the wind. For ideas on speed you can see the ligfietsplaza with results of the Bend races. Fairings normally will beat the unfaired but it is hard to get an average speed over 50 .
Never flat: so we will never get recordbreaking results on the 200 m our 1 k, but is a championship not a recordattempt.
Just got a mail in from the handbikers: they will join us for at least 2 days but probably they are not allowed to call it world championships but worldcup. That will double our participant and we have to change our schedule a bit."

Sherri,

Do you have more information already? It seems that the BHPC forum is the official channel for news from Belgium now... No news can be found on their site, the site on the WC or on the forum from Gentse liggers (the only Belgian forum). So i would like to consult our 007 Bond girl for more secret information.

Greetings,
Jack

Hi all,

here in France not much more information dripping through the border. All I can say is that Zolder is a really nice track to ride onto, although less demanding than Zandvoort. It's less subject to windy conditions since it's surrounded by forest also bringing shade to spectators, if not to riders.
I guess (hope) we'll have more details at CV in a few days.
Otherwise we'll just have to concentrate on the 2008 championships Wink

Cheers
Marc

Our site should go online next week. We just found out this morning that the circuit was double booked on friday(motorrace). Registration is on friday, races on saturday and sunday: 200 m, fastest lap and 45 m criterium on saturday, 1000 m and 100 km on sunday. Is there a need for a Ihpva meeting, or will there be more members in Sloten next week?

Sherri,
this could be an interesting weekend. We are working on the possibilities of our new timing system. It seems that this 1 system can work in a network of computers. In the network different computers can show different screens, so we could have 1 computer in a setup with information for the people who make comments on the race. And we could have a computer which shows results to riders and public. I am very anxious to learn. But perhaps it will not work at Cycle Vision. For the WC in Belgium it could be interesting.
But i thought i heard that the Belgians rented another timing equipment. From my experience that is expensive and also not that usable for recumbent races where there are lots of different classes and point systems.

I hope so see you next weekend,
Jack

Dear recumbent riders,

it is a bit strange to post my reply to my own question. I heard that the dutch will time the event after all.
A program can be found on http://www.ligfiets.net/nieuws/bericht.php3?id=2224

Greetings,
Jack

So does this mean that pre-entry is not required? Just turn up and sign on Friday, race Saturday and Sunday?

Fine if so, although I had the impression that registration would be via the  website... but the address http://www.hpv.be/wk/starten.htm no longer leads anywhere Stern Smile
