Four Brits in the top 10!  Clap

And well done Slash, who looks to have won all the longer events.

i badly bent the cranks in the 50m drag!

1 hr time trial was just that, a trial of mechanical survival, bearings were knackered by the end of the hour!

i think we all have little stories;mine are: pushed off track, sliding around (oil and water mix), literally flying after running over the curbstones, breaking bits, loose nuts, rubbing a hole in my thigh  etc etc,

Was the same points system used as for previous years??
Or was this a cunning plan by our overseas rivals to erm... slash Slash? Wink

don't know about previous worlds, but it does seem unfair that you can get just as many points for doing 6 seconds work (50m drag) or a minutes work (1km tt) as slogging guts out for 3hrs or 1hr!
the points were awarded for all places but dropped off dramatically, so you had to be in first 10 places to get any decent points, as Slash found out doing middle range times in 2 events knocked him right down despite being the most successful rider in 3 out of 6 races!

But in saying all that the winner was well placed in all events, and won one, so maybe the best all rounder won and it was fair!

Slash did win the old gits trophy though!

It has been the same in all three Worlds that I've attended.  I'm in complete agreement, though, that an unweighted average seems unfair.

And drags are little better than a lottery, IMHO

Just noticed that in 3 of the 4 worlds I have ridden at, I've come 7th overall. Cannot find any overall results for tilberg (just individual races) but I suspect I would be around 7th for that as well.

Thanks for the link Lee. You did well in the 1K!

WRT points, for anyone mid-field, it was definitely a tactical error to do the 3-Hour at Bentwaters...

Yep, I was supprised that I managed to beat slash in the 1km and 200m. We determined that my gearing possibly gave me an advantage.
Slash had 6 gears from 94.7 to 169 gear inchs (gain ratio 7.76-13.9)
Lee had 10 gears from 52.6 to 134 gear inchs (gain ratio 4.84-12.3)
