Natalya showed me the recent video on Facebook.  Don't suppose they'll have straightened some of those corners out by September...

I’m looking forward to racing there in a pedal car on Sunday.
It looks like a great track for that. Tongue

Yeah, looks like it should be great fun for pedal cars and unfaired trikes.

I spent a few hours marshalling at yesterday’s pedal car racing on this circuit.

The track is narrower than any BHPC circuit that I’ve raced on. Comfortable for two trikes wide but very snug for three without risking grass-cutting. Lots of corners, which will be fun for unfaired bikes and trikes. Faired machines should doublecheck their brakes and lean angles. Slower riders should stay aware of faster cycles coming up behind them. There are lots of opportunities to close the door, inadvertently or otherwise. Sprinting to nip past a slower rider between corners will be advantageous.

Little elevation change but asphalt as smooth as I’ve ever seen.

There is a pay and display parking machine but ignore that. In the leisure centre/ gym there is a tablet where you enter your car registration for free parking.

The centre sells coffee, ice creams and packaged snacks but you’ll have to head down the road towards town for something solid to eat.

Hereford does look interesting. One point that could stop me going is that height barrier on the car park. StreetView shows it closed and limited to 7 feet. Is this likely to be open on race days?
Thanks

Hallo, everybody... as part of our intensive döstädning campaign (death-cleaning - it's a Swedish thing) I have a few items to offer and could bring them on the train to Hereford, probably on the Sunday - or they could be collected from Shrewsbury if you live within range:

1) a pair of 28-hole Velocity Aeroheat 406 rims in near-new condition
2) a pair (I reckon) of Fastback System side panniers, like new - used once on a trike tour of Brittany, ISTR
3) a 65 tooth 130BCD chainring with bolt-on guards attached, lightly used for racing

They are all *FREE*, freeeeee (to BHPC types) I tell you... if you need photos, e-mail me on:

enn pee underscore marshall at yahoo dot co dot uk (that's enn for Nick, pee for Paul, no spaces)

Alan, please feel free to move/duplicate this post elsewhere if you think it more appropriate. Judith and I look forward to seeing lots of you in September Smile

If anyone has any information about the venue to add to LWaB's useful comments then please post them here and I'll put them on the Race Day page. In particular we like to know about:
  • showers
  • disabled access
  • whether the track is usable in both directions
  • any other good or bad points
