This is the place for comments and discussions about Round 8 of the 2014 Championship at Gravesend Cyclopark on Sunday 27th July.

There is also a Facebook page for this event.

I was in touch with Cyclopark most recently in May, when they said:
As far as the booking goes it’s all down as per the booking form 10-4pm on the 27th July so no problems.
so I'm reasonably confident it'll work this time.

We still need volunteers to organise for both Fowlmead and Gravesend. Both circuits are suitable for a long (2-hourish) race, since we don't have Castle Combe this year. Gravesend also has a lot of interesting options for different circuit layouts and we have the entire track booked so any can be used.

AS Alan says elsewhere - WE STILL HAVE NOBODY TO ORGANISE THIS EVENT. Volunteers please.

I'm sure Mr Nobody will do a cracking job Wink.

Bit daunting volunteering to organise at somewhere we haven't been before, we don't even know if parking is ok, what facilities will be available e.g. somewhere to set up laptop to sign on, or any other details for that matter.

As for race formats, i don't know how that can be decided until the track has been assessed, which i guess will take half an hour at least of cycling around all tracks in both directions.

Thanks for not volunteering AND putting everyone else off Ian Wink

I'm sure there will be people on hand willing to give advice and assistance.

I have never done it, but I will be happy to help with organizing on Sunday.

What we know:
  • There is a room booked for sign-on.

  • We have the entire road circuit booked. A plan of the layout and the lengths of the six possible circuits (400m to 2.5km) are on the Cyclopark website (link on the BHPC website):

I will be at Fowlmed on Saturday, so we can discuss and sort things out. I will need a lot of help.
