Just realised that it also makes me 2nd MF and Miles 3rd, NOT joint 2nd.

Wasn't at the race but it is possible Ian if you did a slower last lap - average lap speed is used in results - Which is what is implied by the results published.

Nope i was flat out all through the race, finished 4th, after being lapped by Slash, Twed and Lee in that order - i have the video to prove it!

My time should be 33min 32 sec, not 34min 32 sec, Eddie, Mike and Miles were behind me. (edited as i've just watched video again, i did 20 laps in 33:32)

As Kevin says, this looks like a classic split-by-the-winner case:
  • Ian crosses the line on 19 laps, ahead of Eddie (and Slash)
  • 32:08 - Slash crosses the line to win
  • 32:33 - Eddie crosses the line to finish on 19 laps (1:42.8/lap)
  • 34:32 - Ian goes on to complete 20 laps (1:43.1/lap)
Ian's average speed is less then Eddie's, so Eddie comes out ahead.

In that case there's a dispute with the stopwatch times, which show you as 34:30.30, corrected by 1.96s to 34:32.25. Unfortunately yours was one of the 8 tags which didn't wake up, so the stopwatch time is all I have. [The 1.96s correction is required to align the stopwatch times with the tag times which were recorded.]

well i can prove it was 33:32...... stop watch reading for me is incorrect.

Just had a look at video, i cross the line just after Neil, passing him just after start finish line,  Is someone getting their figures mixed up?

Ok just had yet another look at my video, Lee crossed the line approximatey 8 seconds ahead of me, with one lap more.

I'm afraid your stop watch reading/recording is WRONG!

The stopwatch times agree with the tag times for the 10 working tags in that race, so there is no general problem. However I have a complete trackside video of race 3 so I shall check the finish times for the other riders, including you, before the results are finalised.

Many thanks to Andrew, Kevin and Adrian for sorting out the results. I'm happy with my result if not my performance, although I did sneak past Graham on the last lap by staying in his mirror blind-spot Smile.

So what i've been sying from the start of this thread is not to be believed?  I have no need to lie! Guilty until proven otherwise?

If the tag data was corrupt for a lot of them, and there is an eronious result - MINE! I would have thought looking at the video would have been next step before posting results!

I give up! put me where you want. Angry

    is all i can say!!!!

in terms of Yantos tag can we check that it was not crystal drift? it is possible and if he's result seems out to his video and race order would suggest it to me. I understand these use external crystals, and have had new batteries resently, so should be stable, but it only takes small Vcc drop and the clock phasing will be out.

the race was 33.08.59 which in the life of the boxes is LONG TIME!!!
every 1sec the crystal dose (and please here don't recall the exact crystal in the box but) say 3.27Mhz that is 3270000 so thats one count every 3.125 micro secs......... the PICs in the box divid by four the clock frequency so one count every 12.5 microsec......
in the time of the race there for the box counts and sorts aorund 154million 240Thousand counts ish or div by 4 38.5million ish.
these things on freqency or accuract!!! afterall you all run you day by them on albe it they generally use 32Khz clocks.

however, these things just like your watch when the Vcc is is low drift and as it is clear a few count dift over 30min can make a time wrong.

perhaps Yanto could post a first and last shot showing timing from his video. (ps these work on crystals to so could be out too )

looking at the timings from his statment he should have come in on the shoulder of Neil Flemming and as a time ref should show Lee in the distance crossing the line some 10sec ahead.

Andrew did you gat chance to check Bev Ashton's laps? the gps show 12 laps in 10 seconds longer time.
and have you a time for my 3rd race yet, I dont expect points in MF as I raced only an open class vehical.

I echo GB comment resorting results, and to all for setting up the weekend it was good to catch-up with so many faces.
