And to the North-West, a nod to that famous 16th Century HPV racer, Queen Mary.

Went to Lincoln today and checked out the circuit. Finding it should be easy (last time I went to Lincoln, I thought we went down the road which went past the circuit but it was infact a diffrent road so no wonder I did not see anything which looked like a circuit. The entrance to the leasure center is clearly signed and the circuit is accesses though the green gates between the leasure center and the school.
The surface is fairly smooth, there were a few patched up areas and a few cracks but nothing major. The track did have quite a bit of overhanging vegetation but I was told that this would be removed prior to the race. There was also a few twigs, stones, litter etc on the circuit but this should hopefully have been swept before the race.
When I went, part of the ciruit was a public path between the housing areas on either side and there were a few people walking dogs etc, I'm not sure if this path will be closed on race day and the gates at each end locked. Maybe myself or someone else should contact the leisure center and find out?
There are toilets, changing rooms, showers and a cafe in the leisure center next to the circuit. I'm not sure if there will be an extra charge to use the changing rooms, shall I find out?

I have contacted the leisure centre - it appears that the locals are
fairly amenable to cyclists so we don't (in fact can't) close of their
access.
The issue on the day might be football matches on the pitches in the
middle where players and their cars and occaisionally their balls will
feel the need to cross the track. The players and cars have only one
access point accross the track (they won't be trying to drive round the
track like that donkey at Salt Ayre) but we will need a marshall or
two. This mainly affects the outer circuit but I will make a decision
as to whether we use the inner or outer tracks on the day.

I have made a rougth sketch with paint of the circuit. I did not see a start/finish line anyware. Do you know where the start/finish is?
Will there be any signs/marshals at the gates? I can just imagine a dog or a kid stepping out infront of a streamliner doing 35Mph and the unpleasant consequences if there was a collision.
If the undergrouth is cut back, it will be easier to see around some of the tight corners in the north west part of the circuit where the undergrouth is currently quite thick and I could not really see around the corners at 72cm eye line.

About the track I know nothing bar what those on the ground have told me - I don't think I have ever been to Lincoln.
My aim is to get there with plenty of time to get myself sorted and
decide what we are going to do and where. We do still have some warning
signs (I think), some marshalls vests and I definitely have some Hazard
tape so we should be safe.
Lee - where are the football pitches in your scheme of things?

When I went, I saw some people playing football (I think they were anyway from what I saw) on where I have marked football pitches on the plan. I did not get off my bike atall while on the circuit so could only see what could be seen from a 7" high seat. I did not check the grass areas in the center to see if there were any pitches marked out, should have done really. I think there is a seprate access to the north-west corner but not sure.
