I would also add - it is the rider's responsibility to ensure he is in the correct class at registration :o)

So what would happen if I signed up as quest for a race and then stacked it and finished with the beano? Would I still get Mf points?

Guys,
I second Andrew S' comments on the timing system. Well done guys! In the TT there were 3 riders within just over a third of a second. We couldn't have s0plit them any other way. OK the system was poor at Scunthorpe but there were problems setting it up and it was cold (not good for batteries). Maybe the system is not good enough for the World's but it seems good enough to me for the normal club events. Ok, lets look into why it failed this time but this shouldn't be a reason to drop it. The bhpc timing system is still an experimental prototype, unlike the AMB system which is a tried, tested and refined commercial system. Im sure it will get better as we iron out the bugs and get used to using it. And it is IMHO better than the stopwatches, we often had laps missed when using stopwatches and thus still needed the camera for backup.

I wouldn't think so, that to me looks like cheating having a faster machine as a back up! I think the answer to this is not to allow any other machine to be raced on the day that you sign it up. If you have a mechanical or crash and cannot continue then tough. If your machine is not capable of competing at a track then don't go to it. |

"If you use machines from different classes in the same day's racing you get your overall points in the fastest class. That means O points only."I think we need to download Adrian's brain to solid-state storage before he retires, or at least that part of it owned by BHPC. |

As Adrian is a member of the committee, surely the BHPC owns ALL of his brain...and most of his spare time ;-)

I think the thanks goes to yourself Andrew
. Looks like it was an interesting bit of detective work. Posting it was the easy bit.

Well done chaps...
There seems to have been a bit of a mix-up somewhere... For some reason in the overall results I am listed as riding different machines in Sports, Street and Unfaired... Challenge Jester and Fair Sprint... I've never ridden either of those. I've only raced the Kingcycle so far this year. |
