Martin, going on last outing it might pay to wait until the day before deciding what kind of race, we might have to clear the track of snow!  At least there shouldn't be any arguements about which way is best !!

That's a very good point and if the forecast is terrible it might be worth checking with the track... Welwyn don't like their velodrome being used in the wet but I think the banking there is steeper (only been to Scunthorpe once, the first time BHPC went there and struggling to remember)...

Martin,

I've just done 45mins round Scunthorpe on the turbo trainer courtesy of what appears to be your youtube video Tongue. As to how fast, I seemed to manage the same number of laps as you did. Slight weirdness aside, it did make training more interesting (plus I know the track really well now). I need batteries for my speedometer, so I'll see about getting out some time in the week and seeing my average over 45min, but I wouldn't expect any fireworks.
I'll aim to get down to the track for about 9.45 then.

Steve

Opening Time

We officially have access to the park and track from 10.00.  In practice, the gates should be opened a little (around 15 minutes) before then.  They're definitely expecting us!

There is a fair chance of a press presence at Scunthorpe .... the regional papers have shown interest in BHPC and in Lee as the local 2012 World Champ contender, in particular.

Hope you have a good day. I'll be thinking of you as I grind away on my turbo t******!

Current plan is that I'm going Adrian, I'm first aider.

Current Weather forecast suggests CastleCombe redux.. albeit its slightly weaker follow up.
gusting 30mph winds, light to moderate rain and 6c windchill, which sounds positively balmy compared to wiltshire :D (the forecast has also improved over the last couple of days).

At least its fairly sheltered at Quibell park.

Thumbs Up (for being a first-aider, not for the weather forecast!)

Fards' link is currently showing Sunday in Scunthorpe as light winds, no rain and mostly sunny, by the way...
