Thanks to the organisators and the weather gods for a great event. Congratulations to Paul G, outstanding result today. I enjoyed the 90 minute format. It was a lot more interesting having a greater number of riders on the track at the same time. It was my first time at Shrewsbury and I really liked the track, especially the hairpin! Hope Dave T's left buttock gets well soon.

Should I buy some more trick bits for the Furai or just buy Optima High Baron.......

Well pleased with that, especially as we were at a party til 1:30 am this morning!

Thanks to Ian and gNick from Fiona and me for the flawless organisation, and Fiona says thanks to Graham for providing liquid refreshment during the race.

Having reflected on today over a bottle of Merlot, I'm pretty sure I enjoyed it.... (and the racing!)

My thanks to Ian and Nick for organisating and to Judith for a couple of tows and Dave Tigwell for his  spare Cornish banana.

Thanks Fards and gNick for your sterling work.  It was a good choice to get it done and dusted before weather happened.  On reflection, it was quite hairy for me on a track of that width with closing speeds of up to 20mph on "traffic".  I could run into the back of riders at the exit of the bends who hadn't even been picked up on my radar as I approached the bend.  The lookback function was interesting if only to see who I had just cut up.  Hope there's not too many people waking tonight from a nightmare being huricaned out of Shropshire in a tumbleweed comprising a small BHPC crowd, fairings and whole bikes lifting themselves off the ground and machinations of an erratic shark mouth.

Yowie watching you from the top of the hairpin, you were possibly one of the "politest" overtakers out there today... Wink

havent checked to see if any of the videos I recorded on the phone worked yet.

My special thanks go to gNick and Graham S-T for their speedy and expert assistance with my chain derailment. Unlike most sensible bikes, when the chain comes off the idler on a Ratracer (at least one of the later models) it involves a considerable amount of stripping down and rebuilding to get it back on. I am especially grateful to Graham for laying down his cloak, Walter-Raleigh style, to protect my knees while I squirmed about on the surprisingly spiky tarmac.

Thanks also to Ian for the single midi-race format, and to whoever was responsible for the weather. Both together made a interesting race with lots to think about.

Just enough for me to beat you Shocked

Hee-hee!! Good old BurrowsCorp Big smile

Ninety minutes are manageable (just about) by the, er, occasional cyclist, and having the track fairly well occupied made them interesting and challenging - Good Call by the organisators. To whom muchas gracias! Thumbs Up

I'd just like to add my thanks and gratitude to the organisers.  Good call on the race format although I doubt it would have been as safe if we'd had a train of ratracers or a couple of extra streamliners.

My only worrying moments were when Howard overtook me through the S bend up to the start finish, unfortunately as you concentrate on your own corners you tend not to spot him in the mirror.

Looking forward to seeing some of the hairpin photo's / videos.

gNick,

Thank you for getting the results so quickly. One comment: Rob Hague vehicle and class are not correct; he was racing a full faired trike, so he should be only in O/Mf.

On a separate note, I really enjoy the race yesterday. It was nice to have more people on the circuit and race for longer time.
